Pastor's Corner

Who is the new Associate Pastor?
Well, my name is Thomas Saucier, O.P. I am 54 so that makes me the youngest in the Dominican Community at Eagle Rock. I was born in Mississippi but raised in Illinois, which is my adopted home. As a child I attended the Southern Baptist Church and became a Roman Catholic in high school. I will gladly share with any of you what led me to become a Catholic. I love to sing and always sang in choirs both Protestant and Catholic.
I joined the Dominicans because I always wanted to be a preacher. I was ordained in 1996 and had several interesting assignments. I have ministered in Sugar Land, TX; Chicago, IL; Columbia, MO; Madison, WI; Tucson, AZ; and now Los Angeles. As a Dominican I have been in regular parishes, taught high school, and served in Newman Centers. One of the reasons I love being a Dominican is the variety of ministry it has allowed me to share my gifts.
Personally, I like to read, especially history and biographies, go to movies, the theater, and the opera. I like to ride my bicycle and can’t wait to tackle Pacific Coast Highway. I love to travel and have been fortunate to visit many places on my bucket list. I love art and architecture so I am looking forward to exploring the various museums around Los Angeles.
I am excited to serve here at St. Dominic’s with Frs. Michael and Francis, and live with the friars in the priory
